Capturing Life's Beauty One Photo at a Time
An intersection of pop art and folk art.
Colorful…but very creepy to me, Brian…is it painted on canvas…or velvet? Just wondering….
Thanks, Another Thousand. This is actually a piece of Mexican folk art on glazed tile, commemorating the Day of the Dead. I photographed the work, and then added some needed color to give it a pop art feeling as well. It is a bit creepy, but pretty tame by Day of the Dead standards.
It’s tile…so perhaps there was a series of them at one point, Brian? And yes, I’ve run across some pretty creepy DoD stuff in the past few years…can’t seem to get near it, though…scary!
Reblogged this on Teacher as Transformer and commented:
If this don’t get your mojo going in the morning, nothing will. What an interesting and awakening image.
Thanks for the reblog, Ivon!
You are welcome Brian.
Caught this bright & colorful piece of art via your reblog. Thanks!
